Svityaz' lake (Shats'k nature reserve)
Lake Svityaz' is one of the many lakes of the Shats'k nature reserve. Both camping and fishing are strictly controlled: there are specially designated areas for camping, and fishing is only possible in certain seasons with a properly purchased "fishing ticket", and up to a certain limit.
The waters of all lakes (including Svityaz') are reach in silver and glycerin, which account for really clean and skin-friendly water.
Svityaz' features several shallow shores, where an adult would be walking for 50m with water below the knees. This makes Svityaz' quite good for family vacations with small children.
Unfortunately, infrastructure is still under-developed. Most of the accommodation is provided by locals, with an extremely wide range of both prices and quality.
Shats'k nature reserve is close to Ukraine's borders with Poland and Belarus. High season is rather short, starting in July and ending in mid-end August. Rains, showers, cloudy weather are common, so check weather forecast before planning your trip.
