This is to illustrate that digital photo cameras are able to "see" (capture) infra-red light. The bluish dot in the centre of the red-front-plastic-screen of the remote is infra-red light. I do not know the exact wavelengths which can be seen with a camera; if you do - please comment here or at the post on digital cameras' ability to capture infra-red light
