Kobza is a national Ukrainian musical string instrument. It always had some special meaning, due to the fact that kobzas were used primarily by old itenerant people, who were both playing kobza and storytelling at the same time. Major topic of storytelling was the history of Ukraine, and acute social problems of those times as well. This one was used during the Second World War to transfer infantry and tanks across the Dnieper river from its eastern bank to the western, when eradicating fascists in the second part of the war. Many of theese were linked to form the pontoon bridge across the whole width of the river.
